Feb. 19 is Gy. Sgt. John Basilone Day in Virginia

VIRGINIA--

Virginia Governor, Mark Warner, has issued a proclamation stating that Feb. 19, 2004, in the Commonwealth of Virginia is Gy. Sgt. John Basilone Day. Governor Warner?s actions follows that of New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey [2003 and 2004] and Maryland Governor, Robert L. Erhlich Jr. The goal of the Stamp Campaign Committee for 2004 is to have all fifty governors proclaim Feb. 19 as John Basilone Day.

The National Ceremony will be at on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. in the Freedom Museum at the Manassas Regional Airport. Please contact jajaffe@earthlink.net for more details.
